• Waxing V Shaving – what are the benefits?

Waxing – removes the entire hair from the root.  Depending on the area that was waxed, the skin can be smooth for 3-6 weeks.  The hair becomes sparser and lighter after every wax.  Waxing is still the number 1. semi-permanent hair removal treatment.

Shaving – removes only a portion of the hair.  The skin is only smooth for a couple of hours.  The hair growth remains the same and does not become sparser or lighter with every shave.  Shaving can occur every 2-3 days.

  • Does it hurt?

If you are a first time waxer you may feel some discomfort.  Once the hair has been removed this discomfort only lasts for a few seconds.  A good therapist  will know how to minimise that discomfort.  Once the hair has been removed it becomes weak making your next visit a lot more manageable.  For best results, return every 4/5 weeks.

  • How to help prevent / treat them?

Waxperts pad where designed to use daily as a solution to help prevent and treat ingrown hairs.  Exfoliate 2-3 times weekly to remove any dead skin cells – which prevents the hair from coming out. Avoid tight restrictive clothing on the area that has been waxed.
